3 TakingITGlobal is honoured to have collaborated with educators Christine M'lot and Marika Schalla to develop this resource with their knowledge and expertise. Christine M'Lot (she/her) is an Anishinaabe educator and curriculum developer from Winnipeg, Manitoba. She has experience working with children and youth in multiple capacities including child welfare, children's disability services, and Indigenous family programming. She currently teaches high school at the University of Winnipeg Collegiate. Christine is also the co-founder of Red Rising Education and works to create Indigenous education resources for teachers. Marika Schalla/Waabishkaanakwadikwe, (she/her) is an early years educator, student, curriculum developer, and mother of two. Marika is an Indigenous Red River Métis and Anishinaabkwe, from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Marika holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Education. She is currently completing her Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Education in Indigenous Knowl- edges. Marika has a passion for Earth-based education and integrating Indigenous knowledges and pedagogies in the classroom. She strives to cause real change in our school systems. Her work reflects meaningful reconciliation that engages our Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth and provides them with Indigenous cultural and traditional connections, knowledges, perspec- tives, and opportunities to make a dierence.
