Students will begin the lesson discussing what healthy relationships are, how we can keep ourselves healthy in a relationship, and dierent ways we can keep our- selves healthy aside from the usual physical/fitness health tips. Students will then watch Pihêsiw Crane's interview with Fireside Chats. Using the knowledge learned in Pihêsiw's interview, students will perform an analysis of their own health, plus an analysis of a significant relationship. Students will use a Medicine Wheel graphic organizer to outline ways they keep their emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual selves healthy. Finally, students will analyze their own relationships through a series of self-reflection questions. MATERIALS •"Healthy Self, Healthy Relationship Analysis" Worksheets •Whiteboard and markers •Computer, Internet and Projector Health and Science ACTIVATE: TURN AND TALK ABOUT HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS To begin the lesson, pose three dierent questions to the class. Instruct students to turn to a part- ner to discuss for 1-2 minutes. Have pairs summarize what they discussed with the rest of the class. Questions: 1.What does a healthy relationship look like? 2.How can we keep ourselves healthy in a relationship? 3.Are there dierent ways to keep ourselves healthy besides taking care of our physical bodies?
