Lesson Two: Curtis Clearsky 50 BANNOCK RECIPE: The order in which the ingredients are listed are how it is added to make the bannock. You will need: •3c flour •3 heaping tbsp margarine •2 ½ tsp baking powder •2 tbsp white sugar •Pinch of salt •1c of milk or water 1.Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. 2.Take 3 cups of flour and place into a large mixing bowl. Add 3 heaping tbsp of margarine to the flour. Mix with a fork or pastry blender until the flour looks crumbly. Like small pebbles. 3.Add 2 ½ tsp of baking powder to the mixture. Mix together. 4.Next, Add 2 tbsp of sugar and a pinch of salt. Mix together. 5.Slowly add one cup of milk/water and mix. Add more water if it has too much flour but, only add a little at a time. The secret to soft bannock is to not over mix. 6.Once the dough comes together it will look shaggy. Gently flatten out the dough on a flat pan and poke with a fork all over. 7.Bake in the oven for 20-30 minutes or until golden brown.
