Irene Yao, Quebec Room to Fight Montreal's housing crisis is real. Many find it difficult to navigate confusing laws as tenants. That is where Room to Fight comes in: a 30-minute escape room- style game lets players learn about their legal rights and the available resources – from illegal deposits to lease protections – while investigating a housing mystery with their friends. This game is designed to be portable, bilingual and adaptable to fit youth centres, classrooms, housing organizations and libraries, making it perfect for reaching diverse neighbourhoods and audiences across Quebec. To ensure maximum reach of this critical information, Irene and her team also built a trivia game for those who can't participate in the escape room, so even a five- minute visit offers something useful and empowering. As Irene enters law school, she hopes to continue participating in civic social innovation initiatives in creative ways and helping more people navigate the complex legal system. No impact could have been made without the Fellowship. They trusted us to give $5,000 for our projects. This made me realize the importance of investing in young people to develop skills and create solutions to social issues. Down the line, I know we can give back this value multiplied to our community. HOUSING & SAFETY
