TakingITGlobal is an organization with a team of individuals f rom many diverse backgrounds, living and working across many regions of Turtle Island on the lands of numerous First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities who lived and played on these lands. Our Headquarters off ice is located in Toronto, Treaty 13, land covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit. Traditional Territory of the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, Huron-Wendat, Wyandot, and a gathering place for many Indigenous communities who have cared for the land for tens of thousands of years and continue to thrive. This land remains home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples today, and we recognize that the work we do today is deeply influenced by the histories, struggles, and stewardship of Indigenous Peoples who have cared for these lands since time immemorial. As a team, we commit to listening, learning, and unlearning. We commit to fostering relationships rooted in reciprocity and care. This land acknowledgement is an invitation to all of us to engage in respectful relationships and support meaningful action as we work collectively towards a sustainable future grounded in reciprocity and kindness.
