Key Findings
Increased Student Attendance
❑ Although most surveyed teachers agreed that Connected North supports attendance,
interviewees were more cautious, noting mainly higher attendance on session days
rather than sustained patterns—though the potential for short-term attendance to
help build longer-term attachment to school was noted.
"…If this is their ticket of
what is making them come to
school, get up in the morning,
catch that bus to town…This
might be the turning point,
and this might be a kid who
now will graduate grade 8. If
we can keep these programs
in place."

Improved Student Performance
❑ Teacher survey data showed a meaningful proportion observing improved collaboration
and teamwork. In interviews, teachers were cautious about attribution but noted
instances of students applying Connected North–related skills in their schoolwork.
Write-in responses described students challenging themselves, strengthening
foundational skills, and in some cases achieving notable academic gains.
