As noted above, 95% of teachers agreed that sessions engaged students through inquiry and project-based learning. As well, 95% agreed that Connected North helps engage students, contributing to their attendance in class and motivation for learning," and 95% agreed that their students have been inspired by speakers/role models who have delivered Connected North sessions. In addition, the 2024-25 teacher survey contained a new question asking teachers to summarize Connected North in one word. The word cloud 26 below illustrates the range of sentiments suggesting high session quality, with "fun" and "interesting" being the most common. Collectively, this quantitative survey data provides strong evidence that Connected North Sessions are generally of high quality. Figure E: Word cloud representing teacher efforts to summarize Connected North in one word When questioned on session quality, all of the teachers interviewed had overall high opinions, with none flagging any examples of where the session material itself was lacking. For example: "The content is relevant…Been really engaging…I haven't had any situations where the content wasn't accurate or up to date…The vast majority of the time the presenters are very well prepared and effective." Some teachers highlighted the value of the high levels of expertise the presenters brought to the classroom. For example, one teacher referred to how engaging it was for students to learn about buffalo from an expert who had worked with them for 25 years at a national park. Another teacher described this expertise as follows: "These are real world knowledge holders where, yes, I'm an educator.
