Careers & Post-Secondary 98 Experiential Education and Travel Northern Compass/Northern Youth Abroad Do you want to earn high school credits, travel in Canada and internationally, make new friends, share your culture, and learn new skills? Learn about Northern Youth Abroad's (NYA) experiential education and travel programs for any youth aged 15-22 from Nunavut, the Yukon, and the Northwest Territories. In this session, youth will learn about what the NYA programs involve and how to apply to become a participant. Handouts will be given. Native Love Notes: How I Began Amy Jackson Amy, a musician, artist, and small business owner from Opaskwayak Cree Nation, creates art that brings laughter and Indigenous representation through items like notebooks, tote bags, and stickers. The arts have helped her heal from a traumatic upbringing as an intergenerational residential school survivor and a lifelong struggle with depression and anxiety. Amy shares how she built a supportive social media community of Indigenous people for her online business. It all began with an idea! Finding Your Passion & Potential Career Path Apolla Echino Apolla Echino, an award-winning film and commercial director, motivational speaker, surfer, and world traveler, is a Métis woman who owns Apollonia Productions. Her experiences, dreams, and determination have shaped a unique and exciting career. In this session, Apolla will share how her passions led to success. She will guide students through reflective exercises, discussions, and activities to help them explore their hidden talents, passions, and potential career interests.
