SJ, of Cree and Eastern European descent, is a digital illustrator, animator, and board-certified medical illustrator, currently pursuing a PhD in Virtual Reality Applications in Medicine. This session will introduce students to medical illustration, a niche field blending art and science, and highlight the need for diverse voices. SJ will guide students through a heart or cranial anatomy worksheet she designed, which can also be coloured. Medical Illustration SJ Okemow Lindsay Poll, a Métis WestJet flight attendant and member of the National Indigenous Council of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), has extensive experience helping Indigenous youth transition from communities to urban centers through "Just Say Yes" Youth Employment Centre in Calgary. In this session, she will share both the routine and exciting aspects of her career as a flight attendant, along with her advocacy work supporting First Nations, Métis, and Inuit employees through her involvement with CUPE.
