Willis Janvier is from La Loche, Sask in Treaty 8 territory and a member of the Clearwater River Dene Nation. He grew up in La
Loche and his first language is Dene. Willis currently lives in Moose Jaw where he's studying Indigenous
social work at First Nations University of Canada. During the fall of
2020 semester, Willis started making videos in the Dene language and
uploading them to Facebook. He was then encouraged by many to
continue making the recordings in the language and share it for
all to hear.

My curiosity drives me. Find what you love. I'm meant to
help people; maybe this is where I'm supposed to help people.
I don't know. I'm still trying to figure that out. But I think I've
found something I really enjoy. For a lot of young people, - find
something you enjoy. Experiment and try something new,
and if it doesn't work, go and move on.
