TEAM MEMBERS The platform has been integral to help the Connected North team keep up with growing program demand while also ensuring smooth delivery. Through the platform, we have created functionality for automations and notifications that are having a transformative impact on how our team operates and spends time. Four main features the platform has enabled are: 1. Automated recording management of sessions 2. Syncing calendar invites with any meeting changes to both Teachers and Providers 3. Sending educators required handouts for sessions automatically 4. Sending automatic rating requests to teachers AWARDS ● Named in HundrEDʼs Top 100 Education Innovations in the world for 2022 - one of only two projects recognized from Canada ● WISE Award Finalist 2022 - The WISE prize for Education is the first distinction of its kind to recognize an outstanding, world-class contribution to Education. Finalists were selected based on their innovation, positive contribution and ability to adapt and scale. ● "Making a Difference, True Champion and Advocate Award" - Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration, November 2021 CONNECTED NORTH - SUPPORTING PROGRAMMING CREATE TO LEARN Established out of the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Create To Learn continues to grow. The platform provides 66 First Nations, Métis and Inuit artists and media makers a way to share their digital skills and traditional knowledge with youth across Canada for free. During the 2022-23 school year, the Create to Learn videos were watched online for over 26,900 minutes of learning. We also continue to work with Anishinaabe educator Christine M'lot to develop additional curriculum-aligned lesson plans to complement the resource. FUTURE PATHWAYS Future Pathways: Fireside Chats and the Future Pathways: Navigator, supported by the RBC Foundation, are other examples of the expansion of Connected North programming. Fireside Chats is a video series featuring Indigenous Role Models from a variety of careers speaking about their journeys. We added 39 new interviews during this year. Navigator is a website for any student interested in further education to learn more about what to expect directly from other students. Itʼs a collection of advice, resources, free apps, and videos from Northern students. 15
