Will Landon is a First Nation's advocate with a Political Studies degree. He was the first First Nations representative for the Young Diplomats of Canada at the 2017 Y7 Summit in Italy. Currently working with a former diplomat, Will is preparing for his Masters and Ph.D. in Global Affairs from an Anishinaabe perspective. In this session, he encourages students to explore beyond their borders, sharing the rewards and challenges of such journeys. International Relations: Expanding Your Worldview Beyond Canada Will Landon Author Christy Jordan-Fenton shares her Inuvialuk mother Margaret Olemaun's experiences at a 1940s residential school in Aklavik. This interactive session highlights Margaret's resilience during two years of family separation. Through photos, illustrations, a read-along of When I Was Eight, and an empathy exercise, learners explore her journey. Christy, with 13 years of virtual facilitation experience, also authored Fatty Legs, Not My Girl, and A Stranger At Home. Penn Museum also offers Mesopotamia: Journey to the City and Greek Vases: Myths in Paintings Did you know that Tenochtitlan, the capital of the Aztec Empire, once housed over 200,000 people? Students will learn about the amazing cultural and technological achievements of Mesoamerican peoples by examining diverse artifacts of the Olmec, Maya, Aztec, and Teotihuacan peoples.
