Reasons for Seasons The Challenger Learning Center In this session, students will explore why we have seasons. Through interactive examples and experiments, they will learn about the concepts of rotation, revolution, and the role of Earth's axis through interactive examples and demonstrations. The session concludes with globe experiments, thermal detection, and a space-themed game show. Discovery Centre also offers Silly Circuits, Creature Detective, and more. We're Wheely Moving Discovery Centre How can we make something move? How should we join materials together? What simple machines are essential for rolling and how do they work? This session challenges students to complete two engineering tasks tiered to their grade level, while also considering forces at play. Students will be encouraged to think about purpose and design as they build and test their own car. Science & Environmental Studies Salmon Life Cycle Ovila Mailhot Salmon is one of the most plentiful fish all over Canada. There are several species in different regions across the country. Join Ovi as he shares a traditional Coast Salish story about salmon. Ovi will also teach the students of the amazing life cycle of a salmon. During the session Ovi will lead the students through a guided drawing of a salmon.
