Lista Qanaatia Spensley-Tagornak, MCP: AT, RCC, is a Counsellor and Art Therapist with a Masters from Adler University. Her name, Lista, means "ready" in Spanish, while Qanaatia, meaning "support" or "tent-pole" in Inuktitut, honors her respected grandfather. Passionate about helping others evolve and feel safe, she provides the support needed to express themselves. In this session, students will create a "Shelf of Wellbeing" drawing, a personalized visual tool to support their emotional health. Shelf of Wellbeing: Emotion Regulation Lista Qanaatia Spensley-Tagornak Dallas takes an approach that is relatable, friendly, funny and humble with a willingness to respond to curious questions. He stands by the door in the room he is in to show his height of 6"8 and when asked how high he can jump, he mentions that for 6 minutes, he broke the record Behind Dallas' motivational mindset in Canada having jumped 12 feet before someone else on his team took his place. Dallas allows himself to be vulnerable, sharing stories of a time that he cried on the bus home after the game and how he had to recover from painful moments and injuries and trauma. Featured as a Neechie Gear Role Model, he has excelled on national and international courts, playing for clubs worldwide. Dallas is proud to represent not just Canada, but also First Nations peoples. In this session, he will discuss his career, overcoming challenges, and share messages of perseverance and hope. Students are encouraged to bring questions for this presentation.
