This school year, there were two key areas the team focused on: 1. Increasing the number of active teachers engaging with Connected North, and ensuring that each school had more than one active and engaged teacher. This school year we reached a program high of 1,100 unique teachers who booked and completed a session. On average, each teacher books 7 sessions per year. 2. Increasing the number of Indigenous role models presenting across all subjects. Enhancing the representation of Indigenous role models for Indigenous students affirms identities, and encourages students to feel proud of who they are and where they come from. During this school year, 48.7% of the overall sessions were delivered by Indigenous experts and role models, an increase from 36% in the previous school year. We had 247 active Indigenous content providers supporting the program this school year, 58 of whom were on-boarded on or aer August 1, 2023.
