Closing Comments Connected North has so many opportunities for students. Because Igloolik is a remote community in the north, I believe it's important to expose students to different perspectives and learning experiences from people across the country. It's a great tool to utilize for my students because we get to visit with interesting people and enjoy sessions that we would not be able to experience otherwise. Furthermore, in one of my English classes, students write children's stories based on Inuit creatures. I have booked sessions with Marty Chan, a children's book author. His sessions are engaging because he uses a lot of storytelling, humour, and special effects. Some of his sessions have handouts that help students in their writing process. The students will have to put words down on the paper in a limited amount of time because the sessions are not that long. I have a few students who struggle with writing, so I will sit with these students and help them gather their ideas and will scribe for them.
