Follow up is often done the next day, to allow processing time for our students. Sometimes we will do email writing reflections on what was learned because it gives the students a chance to practice a functional writing skill and reflect on their learning. Supporting Student Participation Assessment Assessment in my class has typically been discussion based after the session and in the days following. Connections are continuously made between in-class learning and previous sessions done. Reinforcing Learning Before all sessions, I provide a quick profile of my students to the artist. This includes letting the artist know that some of my students are quiet and will not be comfortable sharing answers, and some need additional time for steps. The staff in the room have always been comfortable asking the artist to slow down if needed or repeat a step, which every artist we have worked with has been very receptive to. I make sure that we are honest with the artist if we have a difficult time hearing them or seeing them on the screen, so that they can adjust the settings on their end to make the learning experience optimal for all.
