Shankary Oppilamany Introduction Ataguttaaluk Elementary School Igloolik, Nunavut Ullaakkut! I'm Shankary, and I've been teaching Grade 6 at Ataguttaaluk Elementary School in Igloolik, Nunavut, for the past two years. Being part of this vibrant Inuit community nestled in the beautiful Arctic landscape has been amazing. I'm thrilled to be involved in the Connected North program, which has been instrumental in broadening our students' horizons and enriching their learning experiences. It's not merely a virtual connection; it's like opening the door to a whole new world of learning and understanding that goes beyond our immediate surroundings. During our live, interactive sessions, students get to dive into new ideas, cultures, and experiences. In Igloolik, where resources and diverse learning opportunities can sometimes be hard to come by, the Connected North program bridges those gaps beautifully. It lets our students engage in hands-on, interactive learning experiences, which are important for helping them develop the skills they need to succeed. I try to give my students the best education possible, and programs like Connected North play a crucial role in making that happen.
