Wayfinding in Creativity & Innovation
Dana Marlatt
Dana is a mixed heritage Mohawk poet, from Kanesatake near Oka and a
disruptor teaching 'Wayfinding Through Creativity and Innovation'. Her
experiences range from co-creating the Youth Innovation Hub for Canadian
Roots Exchange, sharing Two-Eyed seeing to Corporate Canada via spoken word,
to teaching a Creativity Module at the Diversity Institute. The goal of this session
will be to spark creativity, connect to land based inspirations, and practice
blending our Ways of Knowing to Innovation principles! Students will have the
chance to play, imagine, and then create their own whimsical concepts.
Medic ine Bag
Laura Leonard
Laura Leonard is of Maliseet descent and is widely known both as a
powerful hand drum singer as well as a prolific fashion designer. She also
holds a BA in Native Studies from Brandon University. This hands on
workshop will guide students to assemble leather pieces to make a
medicine bag. The meanings of the four sacred medicines and the four
colours of the medicine wheel are discussed. Students each receive their
own kit with all the materials required to complete the project.

Explore lung anatomy as you observe a sheep lung dissection which takes a
close look at concepts behind how our lungs work and what it does for us and
the respiratory system. Participate in activities and make observations to learn
how the respiratory system works.
