Not only did every student interviewed
indicate that having access to the laptop
greatly improved their ability to pursue
postsecondary education, they also
highlighted that working on the laptop in
class and outside of school has greatly
improved their confidence in their learning
ability and has inspired them to continue to
work hard after feeling that they have been
given the same opportunities and tools to
succeed as the rest of their classmates.
Students compared having access to
a personal laptop to how they studied
previously: they indicated it was difficult to
rely on pen and paper to take sufficient notes
in class, and had to print all resources and
slides from professors, which was expensive
and inefficient.
