SESSION EXAMPLE: United for Literacy "Fraction Frenzy" A collection of fun and interactive math fraction activities highlighting the method of breaking down fractions. READING, WRITING, STORYTELLING "My studentsʼ favourite session was with Becky Han. The students enjoyed speaking and singing in Inuktitut with her. Aer the session, many of them were very excited to read her book "The Bee" over and over in both English and Inuktitut. It was amazing to see how the session inspired a love of reading for many students." SESSION EXAMPLE: Becky Han "Storytelling Through Music: The Bee/Qaariaq" Becky Han is an Inuk singer-songwriter who grew up in Arctic Bay, NU. Believing that music is a creative and educational outlet, she enjoys writing most of her work in Inuktitut. In this session, Becky sings "Qaariaq" in Inuktitut, then reads it in English and answers any questions. SESSION EXAMPLE: Marty Chan "Springboard to Stories" Marty Chan shares the secret origins behind his books to show students how their own lives can be springboards to great stories. "Marty Chan was able to get my students excited to write. His enthusiasm, charisma and entertaining videos keep my students interested and motivated to create their own unique stories." 12
