In March 2021, we completed our second
cycle of the Code to Learn program, funded
by ISED Canada's CanCode funding initiative.
Across these two years of activities, we
reached over 60,000 students and 4,500
educators across Canada with programming
that strengthened computational thinking
skills.
We engaged educators in training with
InkSmith and Fair Chance Learning to
support linking coding with micro:bits to UN
Sustainable Development Goals and
understanding Climate Change.
We collaborated with Dr. Ruth Beatty of
Lakehead University to create culturally-
responsive math curriculums for First Nations
students.
We worked to strengthen opportunities for
students to use Indigenous languages,
through translating the Lynx programming
interface into Ojibwe, Mi'kmaq, Mohawk and
Oji-Cree
