We encourage you to develop a session outline for our School Coordinator to review in advance.
Regardless of what you have prepared, it is important for you to be flexible and present during the
session so that you can adapt your approach and respond to the needs of the students & teachers.
Demo Session
We typically schedule demo sessions with our new content providers. This involves a runthrough
of one of your sessions with our team members. This opportunity gives you a chance to meet our
team of school leads who would be reaching out to you for booking, and for them to meet you and
become familiar with your content.
Our school leads work closely with educators and students, and will be able to give you feedback
on your session based on the specific context of the communities they work with, as well as the
various considerations outlined in this document. Furthermore, demo sessions allow school leads
to make confident session recommendations to the teachers they work with.
We ask that you come to your Demo Session with an open mind to reflect on how your session
content may need to be adapted to be relevant and engaging for the students and communities we
serve. Many of the educators on our team have lived and worked in these communities before, and
are passionate about ensuring our sessions respond to the unique needs of First Nations, Métis and
Inuit students. We hope youʼll find this process useful and insights gained applicable to your
presentations to schools both inside and outside the Connected North network.
