To ensure your team feels supported in their work life balance while working remotely you can: provide spaces for them to connect informally, do team-building exercises/activities, provide workshops and/or professional development sessions on topical subjects, etc. Working with Minors in Virtual Environments: Working virtually with minors requires communicating and connecting through various virtual means such as: emails, instant messaging, and/or social media channels. Many times these forms of communication can be perceived as informal. Just like working in-person with minors, working virtual with minors also requires rules and regulations to ensure the safety and comfort of all participants. In addition, staff members need to be trained and have a clear understanding of how to manage expectations and set boundaries in a virtual environment. For instance: • Only communicate (response to emails, instant messages, etc) with participants during set work hours • Have office hours for any video conferencing calls • Communicate with participants' guardians on the rules of having personal emails, instant messaging, and social media channels • If social media interaction is required, create a work specific social media account. The staff member can use this account to highlight and share work of the young creatives as well • Ensure staff have a clear understanding on how to proceed with sensitive/private matters shared with them through social media channels
