Students will look closely at her work, sketch from them, and make their own drawings of hybrid creatures using inspiration from Shuvinai Ashoona. WOODL A ND ST Y LE A RT SESSION with Joshua Pawis-Steckley Josh is an Anishinaabe artist that teaches Woodland Cree drawing while sharing his experience with the students of how he became an artist, and the significance of the animal or plant that the students are drawing. Josh's session is the perfect blend of interactive art making and story telling. Classes may select from a variety of animals to create (wolf, beaver, whale, rabbit). R A NK IN INLET CL AY A RT WORK SHOP with Winnipeg Art Gallery Rankin Inlet has a rich history of ceramic art dating back to the 1960s. Students will learn about this unique artwork and then have an opportunity to create their own art inspired by why they learned. Students have the option of using clay, air-dry clay, Plasticine, Play-dough, or home-made dough for this artmaking. PHOTOGR A PH Y, THE B A SIC S with Waukoman Pawis Are you an aspiring photographer? Would you like to know some simple guidelines that can help improve your photography skills to take better pictures? In this session, students will look at the basic principles of photography such as composition and the rule of thirds. Once students have the basic foundation, students will see the world in a new way and take pictures that share a message.
