Drama WILL'S WORLD - ALL ABOUT THE BARD with The Actor's Company Will's World, All About The Bard. How does a glovemaker's son, with just a few years of formal schooling, become the most famous writer and poet in the world? William Shakespeare shares his life story, while providing insight into his works and the world of theatre during the time of Queen Elizabeth. This interactive show features excerpts from A Midsummer Nights Dream, Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Henry V, As You Like It, and Shakespeare's sonnets. Professional actor and Shakespeare expert J.T. Turner brings the Bard to life and makes his works accessible for all. LET'S GO TO THE MOVIES with Cleveland Institute of Music In this class, students go not just to the movies but into the movies. From learning the types of music used in films to actually playing the roles of directors and composers, students will sing, act and dance their way through the world of film music in this fast-paced, activity-filled class. THE ART OF PANTOMIME with Kids Travel With Joy Participants will explore the history and artistic techniques of pantomime. Through body movements, isolations, and facial expressions students will learn to create the perception of reality on the stage. CRE ATING CHAR AC TER with Arts Umbrella In theatre, actors use more than words to create their characters. Movement plays a big role too. In this workshop, students will explore the connection between physicality and character. They will learn a common method of visualizing, interpreting and documenting human movement based on the original work of Rudolf Laban. Students will explore categories of movement through space. Through reflection and experiencing movement from these categories, they will ultimately choose different combinations of movement to create a physical character to share within the class.
