Make a Plan. With Deadlines. Daniel Ura | Founder of Organon I had to be assertive. I constantly had to follow up. This taught me that people will show interest and support but you need to be the champion for your venture. I also had to be diligent with where the venture was going. This influenced our market research and to whom we wanted to speak. Finding that boundary between the scope of the venture and beyond was and still is difficult. Timelines were a big lesson. You have to prioritize. I needed the logo to be finished so the website could start. In the meantime, I started a Facebook page to share contact information. Organon is a platform that is connecting people with disabilities to companies who need to beta-test their products. The design process will include this group as a stakeholder. Ethan Ashby | Founder of The Honour Roll Mixtape Being the one in charge of the project was a little hectic and a learning experience for me. The timeline has been challenging to deal with as I also had to balance it with my other work requirements. We would have liked to have more frequent studio time. We had two months of the sessions and the first few sessions were figuring out our workflow and getting comfortable. Right as we were hitting our stride, we had to slam down on studio time and find other locations which was a bit of a hindrance. Between nine people, we had to figure out times and dates when most of them were available to make the sessions. The Honour Roll Mixtape will be a compilation record of youth hip-hop artists in Toronto reinvigorating the culture of community in artistic collaboration. We want to set an example of the potential in marginalized youth in the arts. 15
