Similar Mobile Apps Agents of Nature, http://agentsofnature.com Agents of Nature is a free app aimed at getting Calgary kids outdoors and discovering the city's parks and other green spaces. The app unlocks fun interactive place based challenges about nature and local wildlife. HistoryPin, http://www.historypin.com Historypin is a digital, user-generated archive of historical photos, videos, audio recordings and personal recollections. Users can overlay historical photographs and compare them with the contemporary location. 3. Micro-Actions Micro-action mobile apps seek to not only encourage mobile learning but also to promote positive change through ingraining new behaviours in their mobile users. One of the most effective ways to engage users and ensure more effective behaviour change is to make the process enjoyable and fun. Case Study Commit2Act, TakingITGlobal The Commit2Act mobile app empowers young idealists to discover, engage and commit to positive actions that help make the world a better place. Using this mobile app, young people can explore five categories of climate change action, and work to reduce their ecological footprint and protect the environment. The app provides users with a variety of actions that they can take, and also allows them to track their progress towards specific goals and objectives. Commit2Act also allows users to see how their actions are making a difference, and changes action into habit through integrating reward into these actions. For example, there is a leaderboard to incentivize users and encourage friendly competition.
