Inspiring Future Pathways The student shared that hearing someone with a background and experiences they could relate to made them feel more confident about their own future possibilities. It was a meaningful moment that demonstrated how representation and authentic connections can spark new interests, build self-confidence, and strengthen a student's sense of belonging. — Teacher from Longlac, ON Connected North sessions can leave lasting impressions on students. Teachers often share examples of how students become interested in pursuing similar career paths to Indigenous role models they meet during sessions. Moments like these demonstrate how meaningful connections with role models can help students broaden their understanding of future pathways and imagine new possibilities for themselves. Memorable Learning Moments Connected North has opened the world of different guest speakers and presenters we wouldn't have otherwise had the opportunity to visit, either in person or virtually, given we are in a remote Northern Community. — Teacher from Inuvik, NWT Connected North routinely allows me to bring in highly-excited experts who have real-world practical experiences and have found success through their own learning.
