Skender Sefa
Instructor is a professional musician with a graduate
degree in music performance and is a qualified teacher
with years of experience teaching private lessons and
workshops at schools throughout Manitoba. Lessons are
available to students of all ages and skill level. Students
will learn to play chords, strumming patterns, and
melodies. All lessons will be guided with onscreen visual
support materials.
Jared Big Canoe also offers History and Elements of Hip Hop
Jared Big Canoe, a traditional and contemporary drummer
from Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation, is a
grandfather drum carrier. In this session, he will share the
history of drumming and his connection to his community.
He will sing, drum traditional and contemporary songs,
and teach students to sing and dance to learn traditional
Ojibwa songs and the dances accompany the song.
