Toy Dissection Science North Take your class on an engaging trip through the rich history of computer programming, as we carefully disassemble a real clockwork toy to see how it truly functions. Using the intricate gears inside, we'll explore important coding concepts like loops and conditional logic, while learning about how a combination of code and gears drives the modern world. By harnessing the unique power of gears, students will also get the exciting chance to create the world's very first version of animation – a "Zoetrope"! Tribe Talk: Code your own translator Indigenous Futures in Engineering Meet Hillary Lanigan from Curve Lake First Nation, the Outreach Coordinator for Indigenous Futures in Engineering at Queen's University. Unlock the world of coding with this interactive workshop! Using Scratch, a beginner-friendly programming language, students will develop essential coding skills by building a translator to convert English word into your choice of Indigenous language.
