Kale works with traditional and modern Inuit styles, as well as contemporary designs. In this session students will learn about taking an illustration from idea, to sketch, to final piece. The goal is to inspire students to look at art as a potential outlet, as well as encourage any aspiring artists to pursue art as a career and demonstrate that it is possible to achieve without formal training, as this can often be intimidating and discouraging. Students will be asked to follow along with the tutorial, while being encouraged to be creative and explore individual style. By the end of the session, students will have one finalized illustration on paper, drawn in ink. "Now I feel stable enough and confident enough to turn down the job opportunities that are smaller,"they report, recounting how they've reduced their workload by knowing and respecting their limits.
