This session builds on the Introduction to the Science of Reading by covering Vocabulary, Fluency, and Comprehension, essential for reading development. Teachers will learn about student assessments and practice administering them. The session also provides evidence- based instructional resources for teachers to explore and apply in their classrooms. Learn Different also offers Psychoeducational Assessments and Anxiety in the Classroom. Professional Development Delving Deeper into Vocabulary, Fluency and Comprehension Learn Different ADHD 101: Intro to Your Students' ADHD Brain Aaron Bailey As someone living with ADHD, Aaron has spent the last decade immersed in the ADHD, Learning Disabilities, and Mental Health field. He worked as an Educational Assistant in the Yukon for five years and has nearly two years of experience running his own business. As a certified ADHD Life Coach, Aaron offers an in-depth presentation enriched by personal stories, providing educators with practical strategies and insights into the ADHD experience. This Digital Citizenship & Anti-(Cyber)Bullying session explores the origins and influence that Social Media has on young people today. Participants will examine the power and pitfalls of popular platforms and learn about the responsibilities of being a digital citizen, as well as how these themes impact on the way we engage with students & colleagues, and how we make decisions in the workplace. Unpacking Social Media Overture with the Arts Overture with the Arts also offers Unpacking the N-Word and P is for Privilege. Elementary Money Math Made Easy Bank of Canada Museum Money is a logical connection to teaching real-world math problems. The Bank of Canada Museum will familiarize your students with currency and money while providing lesson plans on saving and spending, making change and different coin combinations, needs and wants, fractions, and more. From the youngest students to the middle-years, our lesson plans, worksheets and activities are curriculum- connected for financial literacy outcomes in mathematics.
