It was great that most of the students carved a soapstone sculpture for the first time! The students were very proud of their work and were fully engaged in the activity, and the steps were easy to follow. Success! I believe this was a memorable moment that the students will remember for the rest of their lives!" - Pelican Falls High School, Sioux Lookout, Ontario CONNECTED NORTH IN THE COMMUNITY Although Connected North centres on using technology to connect, building relationships in-person where possible is also an exciting part of our work. The Connected North team took part in 22 school visits, where we supported technology training, learned more about school priorities and realities, and spent time in the community. It also gave our team the opportunity to meet and on-board local content providers who could share their talents more widely. Connected North was also invited to attend and present our work at many education conferences throughout the school year, including: the First Nations Educators Conference in Edmonton, KTCEA Conference in Edmonton, AISES Conference in Vancouver, Northern Perspectives conference in Winnipeg, Indigenous Tourism Conference in Ottawa, KERC Education Conference, Matawa Education Conference, and the NAN Education Directors' Conference.
