Itiswithrespect, humilityandkindnessthattheConnectedNorth team would like to acknowledge the land that nourishes us. We acknowledge our interconnectedness and are thankful for the water that flows and life that grows each day. Our organization is composed of a team from many diverse backgrounds who are situated on Indigenous lands across many First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities. In this context, we approach our work with a shared responsibility in upholding treaty agreements and awareness of the ancestors who have come before us, along with the impact of our efforts for generations to come. INTRODUCTION The2023-2024schoolyearmarksConnectedNorthʼs10thAnniversary. Theprogrambeganasa corporate social responsibility program launched by Cisco Canada in 2013 to provide one school in Nunavut with better connectivity and access to virtual educational resources that werenʼt available locally. Through word of mouth, demand grew each year. By 2015, the program was entrusted to TakingITGlobal, as we were uniquely placed to respond to the increased demand and our expertise in creating virtual programming that is customized, culturally relevant, and inspiring. As we celebrate the 10th school year of operations, Connected North now reaches 170 schools across Canada, over 32,000 students and more than 1,000 teachers. The program is made possible by an amazing ecosystem of partners, donors, community supporters and advisors. Together we have created something that has resulted in truly transformative and memorable classroom moments. Thank you to all who made the first decade possible, and we are excited for the next!
