Cody Prusky Nanook Elementary School Apex, Nunavut Introduction My name is Cody Prusky, and I am the Learning Coach at Nanook Elementary School in Apex, Nunavut. To better meet the needs of the student body, I am currently the full-time grade 5 teacher for the 2023-24 school year. For the 2022-23 school year, I was the grades 3, 4, and 5 teacher and learning coach. I have been at this school since fall 2016, but during the subsequent years, I was also the principal of Nakasuk Elementary School. Upon seeing it in action and watching the excitement that the students displayed in their learning of new skills corresponding with the ability to interact with an expert in that subject matter, I felt it was something to take a closer look at. I looked further into how I could use it to expand the students' horizons, exposing them to the various subjects and experts that exist around the world. This is my 25th year teaching, 23 of which have been in Nunavut (2 years in Kugluktuk, 11 in Arviat, and 9 ½ in Iqaluit/Apex). Upon arriving in Iqaluit, I was aware of the Connected North system and its implementation in schools but had not had much of a chance to see it work in person or be heavily exposed to it.
