Connected North Connected North is a school-based program operated by registered charity TakingITGlobal that connects students and teachers in remote communities to virtual experiences and opportunities outside their geographic region. Over 35,000 students from kindergarten to grade 12 from 170 schools across Canada access over 2,000 interactive learning opportunities (called "Sessions") through live video via technology in their classrooms. Connected North's 400+ Content Providers cover all topics and subject areas - science, math, cultural teachings, museum tours, art sessions, mentoring, coding, language revitalization, musical training, teacher professional development, mental wellness, physical education, and more. Connected North is committed to working in respectful partnership with Indigenous communities. The digital resources are developed with Indigenous ways of knowing and learning. We believe that exposure to mentors, and to new opportunities and experiences is key to helping students succeed both in school and in life. 96.5% of teachers agree Connected North engages students and contributes to attendance and motivation for learning. *2023 Teacher Survey C o n n e c t e d N o r t h i n O u r C l a s s r o o m 109 Learn more at www.connectednorth.org
