Karen Chan Gray Introduction Having been the grade 6 teacher for two years at Kullik Ilihakvik in Cambridge Bay, I have had the opportunity to join a variety of Connected North Sessions. I am thrilled to be part of the passionate teaching team of teachers in my school who introduced me to Connected North and use it often. Our computer lab has been set up to be versatile for Connected North Sessions. Key Skills and Knowledge Areas – STEM Sessions Some standout science Connected North sessions have strongly supported student success, particularly in STEM development. Engaging in engineering games and innovation challenges, such as the "Silly Circuits" session, sparked curiosity and paved the way for deeper exploration in our electricity unit. In the high Arctic, accessing diverse learning experiences can be challenging, but that's where the Connected North program becomes invaluable. As an educator, one of my educational philosophies is to cultivate global citizens. Connected North aligns perfectly with this goal. It provides a unique platform for my students to explore different perspectives, engage in hands-on learning experiences, and meeting meaningful hosts that would otherwise be challenging to access from our remote location.
