Luke Nguyen isn't afraid to get his hands dirty. His
Sprout Ideas Fellowship project, 'Seeds that Feed,'
transformed urban areas into gardens that produced a
staggering 600 pounds of vegetables for local food
banks, all while using sustainable practices.
Luke and his team spent hundreds of hours planting,
nurturing, and harvesting the crops, overcoming
unexpected weather changes and resource limitations
to provide food for over 50 community members
facing food insecurity.

"There was a moment when a university student, who
received some of our vegetables, shared how this
fresh produce had made a difference in his diet. It
was good to know that this project had made a
tangible difference in a person's life," Luke reflects.
Luke's project addressed at least five SDGs, most
notably Zero Hunger (Goal 2), Good Health and Well-
being (Goal 3), and Responsible Consumption and
Production (Goal 12).
Luke has no intention of stopping his project's
impact at 600 pounds.
"Looking forward, the project has the potential to
continue making a significant impact. We see
opportunities to expand our vegetable varieties and
increase our donations. The project can continue
advancing the SDGs by promoting sustainable
agriculture practices and addressing food insecurity in
more profound ways."
