Code to Learn
Our Code to Learn program is implemented in
collaboration with seven partner organizations: LCSI
(Logo Computer Systems Inc.), InkSmith, ISTE
(International Society for Technology in Education),
OCAD University's Inclusive Design Research Centre,
the Kelsey Centre, Fair Chance Learning, and the
College Board.
Over the last few months, in preparation for the new
school year, a new web site was designed and launched
for the program at CodeToLearn.ca
2022
InkSmith launched a series of "Coding for Climate"
webinars that feature their Climate Action Kit, a series of
sensors and equipment that helps students develop
classroom coding projects while increasing their
understanding of environmental issues and climate
change. The demand for this opportunity was
overwhelming and all places were filled.
Fair Chance Learning designed a
series of half-day in person "Tech
for Reconciliation" teacher
training events that were held at
UTM and UBC this fall, featuring
the Your Voice is Power program.
The LCSI team developed a project called Secret
Path with the Downie Wenjack Fund to have
students develop their coding skills as they learned
about and responded to the Secret Path book. They
also launched LynxCoding in Inuktitut so that
students could develop coding projects entirely in
the Inuktitut language.
22,230 students
participated in
training alongside
1,660 teachers
59% of teachers are
more confident to

in their classroom!
