OVERALL PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Since its founding, the Connected North program has grown significantly, especially since program
operation was taken on by TakingITGlobal in 2015. During the 2022-2023 school year, we added 20
new schools to the program, bringing the total to 150 schools served. The Yukon and the Northwest
Territories were the regions that saw the most growth.
Overall 6,560 sessions were delivered - a 12% increase from last yearʼs record.
As the program continues to grow, we are prioritizing relationship-building with communities, and
deepening relationships with existing teachers and Indigenous role models. The team is also focused
on increasing the diversity of content providers across all subjects. During this school year, 36% of
the overall sessions were delivered by Indigenous experts and role models, an increase from 27%
in the previous school year.
