OUR APPROACH
We recognize that lasting change can only be achieved when every member of society is actively
involved in supporting young people to reach their full potential. In all the work we do, we consult
community members and directly incorporate their feedback into our strategies and project plans.
At the heart of the Connected North remains the commitment to an approach that holds
Indigenous perspectives at the centre. The students and educators guide how the program will
work best for their community, and Indigenous role models and content providers are involved
wherever possible, as critical sources of knowledge and inspiration. The school leads on our team
take great care in the selection of each content provider recommended to a teacher in order to
tailor to the needs of the classroom.
OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES
OUR TEAM
The Connected North team is made up of a diverse group of people located across Canada. From
experienced educators to community leaders, technology experts and our Elder in Residence, each
team member brings a unique perspective and skillset to the group. The teamʼs efforts and passion
for the program made the 2022-2023 school year a success.
