PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Connected North connects students living in remote communities to live, virtual experiences and
opportunities not available to them locally. Through this school-based education program,
students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 can access learning opportunities through interactive
video experiences.
Connected North sessions are customized, needs-based, responsive programming driven by
student, teacher, and community priorities and interests. Indigenous youth are at the heart of the
Connected North program, and our aim is to provide equitable access to content and resources
that will enable these students to thrive.
Connected North live video sessions include experiences like:
● Virtual field trips to museums, galleries, aquariums and more
● Role model mentoring to build hope and pride
● Sharing of cultural celebrations and language revitalization
● Exploring future pathways for education and careers
● Teacher professional development workshops and training
Connected North wouldnʼt be possible without the large ecosystem of donors, partners,
communities and education authorities who enable and support program delivery.
