From the project, I learned how to manage a
large group, finding adequate channels to
communicate and follow-up on. This included
organizing the logistics of meetings, editorial
flow, time management, providing concise,
applicable feedback, and one-on-one
mentorship. Quick adaptation was crucial as
deadlines needed to be met while maintaining
the highest journalistic standards.
4) Learned About Leadership
I learned how to organize an
event and how to be a leader.
This grant offered me the
opportunity to be in charge
of some elements of this
important day. It took many
people to organize and I was
able to contribute. I learned
how to take an idea and
follow it through to
completion.
