The biggest success was all the
messages we received letting us know
how great it was to finally see Afghan
art and creative works promoted and
celebrated. Art, poetry, and creative
writing are not always encouraged in
the Afghan community, so we received
a lot of feedback explaining that it was
great to observe talented creative works
from other Afghans, often with themes
that they could relate to.
The biggest success with this project was
empowering and motivating youth in my
community to get involved with big projects.
A few young children in elementary school
asked me why I was helping their families. I
responded with "It is important to help our
community, and always remember that all
acts of kindness can make a difference in
the world." The young girls were so happy,
and they started asking me about how they
could help too.
Project Leaders highlighted how proud they were of their projects because of the level of
impact they were able to achieve in their community as a result. They were proud of the
number of lives directly improved by their community service projects, and of the ripple
effect created by inspiring others to do the same.
7) The Outreach & Impact
We are most proud of [the]
youth who were able to
launch their own equity-
related initiatives to
address issues affecting
community.
