"Diversity Community Mural": planned & painted a mural with the community "Community Yoga Classes": facilitated a virtual yoga and wellness workshop for women to connect with themselves & each other "Community Seed Pantry": worked with community to create a local hub to share seeds with each other Project Leaders implemented projects that increased both the involvement & the engagement of a variety of groups in their community. Examples: 2) Community Involvement The attending community members were incredibly engaged, many people expressed to me how great the day had been and how important these things are in this community. There were good vibes all around, lots of kids and families. It was incredibly special to witness the engagement, love, and wisdom of a historically underserved community. Project Activities & Impacts We were able to bring our community together and advertise local volunteering opportunities to high school students. These students made new connections with peers and organizations in their community and were able to sign up for volunteering opportunities. Showcasing the importance of service is something we strive to do as a club, and we achieved this goal by touching our students' hearts with the meaningful organizations involved. We were able to take students and members of the community out to the camp for land-based learning around 12-15 times (we had so much fun that we lost track!). In all of the instances, we were able to teach about local flora and fauna, survival skills, cooking over a fire, shelter building, and team skills. We saw great success especially in our students, who were able to grow closer as a community through their experiences with land-based learning. We were also able to take many other members of the community out, including young adults, seniors, teachers, and community leaders. Overall, we were very proud of how engaged everyone was with the experiences that they had with us. Section 2: 13
