He organized a cookingand exercise class for new immigrants in his community. "The purpose of this project is to promote social integration by meeting other people and learning about other cultures, as well promote health and wellness by learning basic exercises," he shared. Using sustainability as a theme, the workshops incorporated tips and techniques on how to make meal prepping, grocery shopping, and fitness more sustainable. For example, the workshops demonstrated how to locally source items and using seasonally available items, as well as to recycle and reuse packaging and containers to reduce the environmental impact of plastic waste. Andrew also showcased different fitness styles and ways of staying fit and active. "Participants enjoyed the activities and wanted to do more of it," reflected Andrew. "They met new people and learned how to meal prep and do basic home exercises including yoga."
