PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Connected North connects students living in remote communities to virtual experiences and
opportunities not available to them locally. Through this school-based education program,
students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 can access learning opportunities through live and
interactive video experiences.
The programʼs commitment is to provide students and teachers with access to virtual content that
is engaging and innovative, with the hope of increasing feelings of empowerment in school and in
life. Connected North sessions continue to be driven by the needs that educators, students and
communities share with us. We're here to help connect learners with lessons customized to their
interests and goals.
Indigenous youth are at the heart of the Connected North program, and our aim is to provide
equitable access to content and resources that will enable these students to thrive.
Connected North live video sessions include experiences like:
● Virtual field trips to museums, galleries, aquariums and more
● Role model mentoring to build hope and pride
● Sharing of cultural celebrations and language revitalization
● Exploring future pathways for education and careers
● Teacher professional development workshops and training
Connected North wouldnʼt be possible without the large ecosystem of donors, partners and
education authorities who enable program delivery. We thank them for their ongoing support!
