Lesson One: Dallas Storm Flett-Wapash 22 The concept art will show scenes directly from the video game they are imagining. Students will follow a checklist to create their concept art. Students will be provided white paper, drawing and colouring materials to create their art. Students will need to create concept art for their video games. The concept art could show the various characters, a scene from the video games, the landscape of where the game takes place, etc. The 3D model will represent either the main character or main villain in the student's video game concept. Students will be provided with either air-dry clay, modelling clay, or plasticine to create their models. Provide students with a piece of cardboard or a paper plate to create their models on. Instruct students to write their first name, and section if applicable, on the top of the paper plate. Students will self-assess themselves with how well they believe they create their models. Students will give themselves a mark for their 3D models. It is up to the teacher's discretion if the marks are changed. Teachers will provide feedback and a final mark for the entire project. ASSESS: The sticky notes activity is a form of formative assessment. This activity will enable teachers to assess group learning and student communication skills. The debriefing questions after Dallas' interview with Fireside Chats is a form of formative assess- ment. Teachers will be able to check what students took away from Raven's video and make connections to the other parts of the lesson. The Create a Video Game Concept project is a summative assessment. Students will be assessed by a paragraph rubric, and an artwork self-assessment. Students will give their models a mark. Teachers will provide students with feedback and a total mark for the project. It is at the teachers discretion if they keep the original mark the students have chosen for their models. Teachers will check if the three parts of the project flow well together, check for creativity and individuality, and provide students with feedback of how well they completed the project, improvements they could make in the future, and any other comments they may have,
