Lesson Two: Dana Marlatt 167 business and services that exist to fulfil peoples' needs. Students can work independently for 15 minutes, and then compare answers with a friend. Students should think of a minimum of 25 answers, or 5 answers per category. Finally, ask them if they can think of any business ideas that fulfil community actualization or cul- tural perpetuity based on Blackfoot philosophies. Once students have finished brainstorming, tell them that the best business ideas are ones that serve a need or fix a problem! ASSESS: The sticky notes activity is a form of formative assessment. This activity will enable teachers to assess group learning, prior knowledge, communication, and categorization skills. The debriefing questions after Dana's interview with Fireside Chats is a form of formative assessment. Teachers will be able to check what students took away from the video and make connections to the other parts of the lesson. The "Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs" worksheet is a form of summative assessment. Students can be assessed on level of completeness and thoughtfulness of answers. The worksheet can be graded out of 25 marks.
